3M.D. Asistant, Haydarpasa training and Reseach Hospital, Eye Clinic, İstanbul/TURKEY Ocular complications may occur during or after endoscopic sinus surgery (ECS) due to close relationship between the paranasal sinuses and the orbit. Complications involving the orbit, optic nerve, extraocular muscles and lacrimal drainage system related to ESC have been reported. Endophthalmitis following ESC has not been reported in the literature. In this case report, a patient who developed endophthalmitis one week after ESC has been discussed. The risk of development of ocular complications due to intimate relationship between the paranasal sinuses and the orbit should be kept in mind and ophthalmological consultation is required in suspected cases.
