Necmettin Erbakan University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Clinical Neurophysiology, Konya/TURKEY Diabetic cranial neuropathy is one of the not so common forms of neuropathy, which often appears to be a serious problem a diagnostic and therapeutic point of view. It usually involves cranial nerves III, IV and VI causing acut onset of ophtalmoplegia. Usually unilateral and isolated revealed. Patients with bilateral and multiple involvement have been reported. Cranial diabetic neuropathies can occur simultaneously diabetic population and sometimes it may be preseting sign of newly diagnosed diabetes or glucose intolerance. Microvasculer ischemia from diabetes is the most common etiology of cranial nevre palsy. Cranial nerve palsy is diabetic patients are extremely rare and occur in older individuals with a long duration of diabetes.
