OCT technology continues to develop further it will provide new insights into the retinal and choroidal structure and the pathogenesis in the posterior segment of the eye. This review emphasizes that new technologic improvement in the OCT area like swept-source OCT, cellular OCT using adaptive optics and the functional extensions of OCT.
