GENE THERAPY FOR RETINAL DISORDERS TOW ARD YEAR 2000

No other organ in the body except the eye has a higher percentage of disorders arising primarily from genetic causes1. The retina which has the most of vital and lifelong important disorders of hereditary or acquired origin in the eye seems to be the target tissue in the near future. In this article, reviewing preclinical studies, applicability of this mode of therapy in the clinic was discussed.
