Retinal Detachment Prophlaxy With Equatorial Photocoagulation
Fırat Üniv. Tıp Fak. Göz Hast AD.
We treated 14 eyes of 13 patients with equatorial photocoagulation who are in high risk group for retinal detachment. Patients have either peripheral retinal degeneration or one of the retinal hole, tear or dialysis. Except transient accommodation insufficiency in one patient, no complication have been established due to photocoagulation. Non of the eyes has been developed retinal detachment through the mean 17.4 months observation period. We think that equatorial photocoagulation is an effective procedure for prevention of retinal detachment in selected high-risk patient group.
