ACUTE IDIOPATIC FROSTED RETINAL ANGIITIS
Osmangazi Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Göz Hastalıkları AD. Eskişehir
We report a case of acute idiopatic frosted retinal angiitis in a 9-year-old-boy. He noted acute visual decrease in both eyes. Initial visual acuity was counting fingers on right eye and 0.6 on the left eye. A thick, white sheating of retinal veins and diffuse macular oedema were present in both fundi. The fluoressein angiogram showed late leakage from the retinal veins, without evidence of stasis or occlusion. With oral corticosteroid therapy visual acuity and retinal periphlebitis showed rapid improvement. No systemic abnormality has been found to explain the aetiology of this condition.
