Idiopathic Parafoveal Telangiectasis
Hacettepe Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Göz Hastalıkları A.D., Ankara.
Parafoveal telangiectasis can be idiopathic as well as secondary to other diseases like diabetic retinopathy or radiation retinopathy. Idiopathic group can be further divided into three according to the clinical and angiographic characteristics. In group 1 telangiectasis is visible with exudation. In group 2 telangiectasis is occult and nonexudative. In group 3 capillary occlusion is together with minimally exudative visible telangiectasis. Lazer photocoagulation is recommended for the exudative group but is controversial in nonexudative and obliterative cases.
