2Doç. Dr., SSK Ulucanlar Göz Hst.Merk. ve Göz Bankası Purpose:To report a case with choroidal ostoma
Case report:We report a 30-year-old woman who sought medical help for blurred vision in both eyes. Her medical history was unremarkable. Visual acuities were 3/10 in the rigt eye and 20/200 in the left eye. Anterior segment examination of both eyes was in normal limits. Fundus examination of both eyes revealed yellow-white juxta-papiller lesions extending over the macula. Fundus fluorescein angiography showed early and late hyperfluoresence. There was no choroidal neovascularization. Ultrasonography showed hyperechoic choroidal mass that has acoustic shadowing bilaterally. Computerized tomography yielded radioopaque plaque of bone density bilaterally.
Discussion:Choroidal osteoma is distinguished from other ocular tumors by clinical appearance and imaging of the lesion. Prognosis of the vision is variable. There is no therapeutic modality specifically except for choroidal neovascularization which develops in 1/3 of eyes with choroidal osteoma. Patients must be followed for enlargement of the tumor and for especially choroidal neovascularization development.
