Preoperative Evaluation Before Cataract Surgery and Bıometry in Diabetics

Diabetes, one of the today's most important social problems, increases in importance in Eye Diseases as in other medical branches. Cataract surgery, which is the most frequently performed surgery in human body, is also increasing in diabetics. In another word a growing proportion of people undergoing cataract surgery is diabetics. In addition to this, perfect results in cataract surgery ensure happiness of both patients and ophthalmologists. In this case, of course, the preoperative evaluation, selection of intraocular lens and calculation of intraocular lens power calculation is of great importance. In this review, we tried to give information about evaluation of anterior segment and intraocular lens calculation before cataract surgery in patients with known diabetes.
