Ocular syphilis may present with keratitis, uveitis, retinal vasculitis, scleritis, optic neuropathy and, rarely, acute zonal occult outer retinopathy. It should be kept in mind that syphilis is a mimicry disease, may cause atypical clinical findings and can be treated with penicillin.
