Recent technological innovations have led indocyanine green angiography to find clinical application in many chorioretinal disorders. In age-related macular degeneration, indocyanine green angiography may play an important role in the diagnosis of patients with occult choroidal neovascularization, leading to increased efficacy of laser coagulation treatment. In several choriodal inflammatory conditions, as well as central serous chorioretinopathy, distinct indocyanine green angiography patterns, which may facilitate better understanding of the disease processes, have been observed. With greater experience, indocyanine green angiography may provide a better undestanding of the pathogenesis and thus new treatment approaches for several chorioretinal conditions.
