Interferon Alfa-2a For Treatment Of Age-Related Macular Degeneration

3Numune II. Göz Kliniği 5 cases with age-related macular degeneration received 3 million U/m2 interferon alfa 2a subcutaneously 3 times a week for a period of 8 weeks. In 2 cases the lesion angiographically increased in diameter and the visual acuity decreased. In the 3rd case the visual acuity and the size of the lesion has not been changed. In all patients while mild systemic side effects occurred, ocular complications were not determined and 2 cases were lost to follow up.
