Matherials and Methods: Between January 2005-February 2006, short posterior ciliary artery blood flow of 16 patient with acute CSC were examined by color Doppler ultrasonography and compared with 16 patients with no systemic or ocular disease. Peak systolic rate (PS), end diastolic rate (ED), resistivity index (RI), pulsatility index (PI) of all cases were evaluated.
Results: Mean PS of PCA of the patient group was 30.81±3.17, of the control group was 26.90±1.54 (p>0.05). Mean ED of PCA of the patient group was 10.75±0.87, and of the control group was 9.37±0.67 (p>0.05). Mean RI value of the patient group was 0.61±0.03, of the control group was 0.63±0.02 (p>0.05). Mean PI of PCA of the patient group was 1.31±0.06, and of the control group was 1.19±0.04 (p>0.05).
Conclusion: Statistically, there was no difference in mean blood flow parameters of PCA in CSC with color Doppler ultrasonography.
