Dr. In this study we describe a case of subfoveal choroidal neovascularization secondary to basal laminar drusen, in which severe visual loss occured after photodynamic therapy session. We changed the type of treatment to pegaptanib injections (Macugen®) for achieving regression of the recurrent neovascularization. During one-year, 8 intravitreal injections of pegaptanib has been performed every 6 weeks, and at the end of the follow-up; stabilization of the lesion was achieved with preservation of the visual acuity at the baseline value.
